Production Control Assistant Manager

SUMMARY

The function of the Production Control Asst. Manager/Manager is to coordinate integrated activities within the Production Control Department to support both existing programs and new project start-ups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Provide leadership and direction to all team members within the Production Control Department. Provide upper Management with departmental progress status projects.
  2. Analyze inventory levels and strive to reduce through continuous improvement.
  3. Responsible for assisting and identifying potential problems or abnormal conditions and establishing countermeasures to resolve.
  4. Training, development of Standard Work Instructions and support implementation of JD Edwards Computer System.
  5. Training, development of Standard Work Instructions and support implementation of scanning system.
  6. Develop, maintain and audit all required Standard Work Instructions that pertain to Production Planning office personnel that support TGKY’s ISO/TS 16949 requirement.
  7. Provide training and/or instructions to team members in order to increase skill level.
  8. Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Control Asst. Manager/Manager manages all employees of the PC department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

TPS Knowledge a plus

Experience in JIT automotive manufacturing environment a plus

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Clear, concise written and verbal skills and problem solving skills required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Computer proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel

Experience with JDE system a plus

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division is necessary. The ability to express numbers as a decimal, convert numbers into percentages and from percentages to whole numbers, ability to express numbers as a fraction and perform basic math operations using positive and negative numbers and as ratios or averages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 Per Year
